Can two people be any more confused than Bailey and Max?
Bailey Cooper is very much attracted to her neighbor Max Davis. Unfortunately for Bailey, Greg – Max’s lover is slowly becoming one of Bailey’s best friends. What is a girl to do when she ‘thinks’ the man she's in love with is in love with someone else?
Max Davis and his baby brother Greg Davis are co-owners of the apartment building they live in. Max has fallen for his tenant, Bailey, but she avoids and ignores all of his advances. Max becomes suspicious of the friendship blooming between Greg and Bailey. He believes Bailey has a crush on his brother but Max wants Bailey all to himself. Now he has to think of ways to keep Bailey and Greg apart.
Will a holiday weekend full of chaos, confusion and a little bit of charm finally get Bailey and Max on the right track?
Or will a few innocent caresses lead to more Christmas confusion?

Excerpt

“If you’re uncomfortable, we can turn it off,” she told him.
“No, I was just wondering if you were. You haven’t stopped blushing since he carried his bride into the house.”
As if on cue, she blushed again and tried to cover her embarrassment up with a laugh. Even to her own ears, her laugh sounded strained, uncomfortable. “I usually don’t watch movies with detailed love scenes,” she told him. Why had she told him that? He didn’t need to know how lacking her sex life was.
“Why not?” he asked, taking a deeper drink from his bottle of beer.
“Um.” Should she tell him that she was a ‘V’? Who cared whether he knew she was or not, right? She shouldn’t be so embarrassed. There was absolutely nothing wrong with waiting until she was married to have sex.
But she couldn’t tell him that she avoided movies with detailed sex scenes, because they created feelings in her body that her own fingers couldn’t massage away. She would never tell him that.
“They embarrass me a little,” she said instead.
“Why?” he asked turning his dark eyes her way, his eyes seeing into her soul.
“Because,” she stretched the word as she searched her mind for an answer. She decided to just tell the truth. “Because I’ve never done it before, and watching it makes me think about doing it, and I don’t want to think about doing it since I’m not doing it.” She blurted it out so quickly that she had to repeat it in her head to make sure she’d said it correctly out loud.
Max stared at her intensely. His eyes bore into hers making her wet in places that had never been touched by any one besides herself. Bailey licked her lips again, wishing he would say something, anything.
“Why?” he asked her again.
What did he mean ‘why’? She’d just answered why. Beginning to feel hot and bothered, Bailey slid the comforter off her shoulders settling it around her waist. His eyes drifted to her chest for a millisecond before returning to her face.
“Why?” he asked again, this time a little louder, with a little more force. The emotion he put into the word excited her. She shouldn’t be excited by him. Her heartbeat shouldn’t race when he stared at her lips, and she shouldn’t yearn for him to pull her into his arms and kiss her senseless. But she did. She knew she couldn’t have him, but he was everything she wanted.
“Because I want to wait for true love.” All her hopes and dreams began to pour from her lips as he stared into her eyes, his chest rising and falling as if he’d just run a mile.
“Because I don’t want to end up barefoot and pregnant like my mother. Because I don’t want to date one man after another, searching for love and finding lust instead, like my best friend’s mother does. I just want one man. One man who will be my husband, my lover, my children’s father and my best friend. I want to get it right the first time so I don’t have to share a part of myself with more than one person. Does that make sense?”
“It makes perfect sense to me.”
“Really?” she asked, surprised and curious at the same time. “Why does it make sense to you, and none of the other guys who tried to date me?”
Oops, had she just insinuated that he was trying to date her. “Not that you are trying to date me,” Bailey exclaimed trying to rectify her statement.
“What if I were?” he asked her and her whole world stopped spinning. “Hypothetically speaking, of course,” he said.
“What do you mean?” Bailey asked, confused and eager.
“What if I told you I was willing to wait until we were married to have sex? What if I told you all I wanted was you, and sex was only secondary? What if I told you that I love the way you smile and I want to do everything in my power to keep that beautiful smile on your face. What would you say to that?”
