I RECEIVED AN ARC IN EXCHANGE OF THE HONEST REVIEW
Alright, I might be
the only reader who watched less than 10 episodes Sons of Anarchy… It’s mostly because a schedule conflict but the
depiction of women doesn’t help its cause! I’m fine with the guns, the killings,
the drugs (well not really, but not my life choice). I can even embrace the beards
and the leather fetish. As long as you’re a man, a MC is the place to be. As I say in many of my reviews before, women, we
always get the raw end of the deal. In Devil’s Dust MC, we’re either whores or
some biker’s property. Doesn’t it just make you think of the why and how? Why so
much alpha male bravado? How can two
people possibly fall in love in that world? My apprehension was the reason I never
gave MC romance a chance. Boy was I proven wrong!
This story revolves
around Dani and Shadow. I would never say that to his face, but Shadow is a
great stripper and porn star name. I like Shadow, Sergeant-at-Arms for Devil’s
Dust MC and I compliment the author for making him this dark and not holding
back. His selfishness and his alpha male borderline abusive behaviour are right
up my alley and fit with his lifestyle. Don’t hate the player, hate the game! Dani,
Dani, Dani, only 21, she knows nothing about MC life so when sexy, dangerous
looking Shadow came into her life… she was doomed. The thrill, the discovery of
her own origin, handsome older man eye-fucking her all the time, lust, lust,
lust, lust… Their passion for each other heated up the pages. They called
themselves damaged and Shadow kept
saying that he didn’t deserve her. Dani, you should always listen to a man when
he says such things! Being 21 sucks!
But as this started
as a suspense story, I kept searching for the poop (HIMYM reference). Was it just another romance novel about two
broken souls finding each other blah blah blah? Seeing how Dani needed to
mature a little to understand what mess she was in, if it was just about that
this book would have been 3 to 3.5 stars to me. Hell no! I know a lot of people
dislike cliff-hangers but I live for them! The ending is what made me like this
book so much. The story didn’t completely make sense before that. No spoiler,
just one line: hell has no fury like a woman scorned… oh, I will be getting the
next book. I need to know what Bobby and Bull, my two favourite characters in
that series, are up to. I’ll check on Shadow and Dani too! (Wink)
